HOWARD WAXBERG ABSTRACT ART

MY STORY
Howard Waxberg
I was born in Germany to parents who were Holocaust survivors. We moved to Toronto, Canada when I was 1 year old where I still live and work to this day. My studio gallery is located in midtown Toronto.

My love of painting started when I was in grade school and continued to high school at which time my concentration turned to academics and a business career in design and construction. Now I am back to my love since childhood. Painting.

I am partially self taught and have studied at Toronto School of Art, Central Technical School of Art and The Art Gallery of Toronto.

Presently I am working with Joe Fleming.

My influences are mostly the great early to mid century abstract exprssionist painters: Joan Mitchell, Helen Frankenthaler, Wassily Kandinsky, Robert Motherwell, Piet Mondrian, Paul Klee, Hans Hoffman, Joan Miro, William Dee Kooning, Sam Francis, Jean Paul Riopelle, Frank Stella and many of the contemporary painters working today.

My work is exhibited at my studio gallery at 1380 Bathurst Street, Toronto and can be viewed and purchased by appointment from my studio or online from this website.
